KEITH SET FOR THROAT SURGERY
 November 9 , 2011 --- Keith Urban is set to undergo throat surgery later this month, to remove a polyp which has developed on his vocal chords. The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation that will require the postponement of the 'All For The Hall' benefit concert.
Although Urban has had to substantially scale back his appearances requiring multiple songs, he will be honoring his pre-existing one-song performance commitments leading up to his procedure at the end of this month. All other appearances will be rescheduled in the new year.
"LONG HOT SUMMER" #1
October 11 , 2011 --- Keith has topped the US country charts once again with "Long Hot Summer", the third single from his latest CD Get Closer. "Long Hot Summer" is Urban's 13th number 1 single. The Country Music Association recently nominated Urban for 2011 Entertainer of the Year as well as Male Vocalist of the Year.
Keith will film his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show today and the episode will air Tuesday, October 11th. During the show, Keith will perform his new single "You Gonna Fly" and promote his new men's cologne, PHOENIX by Keith Urban.
In conjunction with People.com, Keith recently launched a nationwide contest to create a thirty second commercial spot for PHOENIX by Keith Urban. The grand prize winner will be hand selected by Keith and their commercial will be broadcast on national network television after the conclusion of the promotion. Keith will close his acclaimed Get Closer 2011 World Tour Presented By AT&T and Samsung on October 15th in Minneapolis, MN. The tour saw Keith stopping in more than 50 cities throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.

KEITH'S 'ALL FOR THE HALL' BENEFIT RAISES BIG BUCKS
 October 14, 2010 --- Keith Urban’s second “We’re All for the Hall” benefit concert has netted nearly $450,000 for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. That brings the two-year total to roughly $1 million. The concert, which took place before a sold-out crowd of 14,000 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on October 5, featured performances from Urban, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, John Mayer, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss and Billy Currington. Each artist shared one of their hits and a song from one of their musical heroes. Keith shares, “This year’s ‘We’re All for the Hall’ benefit, for me, was just over the top. Being up there playing those songs with some of my childhood heroes was like an out of body experience. I cannot thank everyone enough for all that they did to make this show the incredible success that it was – the performers on stage, the people behind the stage, all of our corporate partners and the fans that were there – from the very bottom of my heart, thank you.”
KEITH TO RELEASE DELUXE VERSION OF 'GET CLOSER' AT TARGET
October 14, 2010 --- When Keith Urban releases his sixth studio album, "Get Closer," on Nov. 16, he won't only get closer with his fans -- he'll snuggle up with Target as well. The Grammy-winning country singer will release a deluxe version of the album, to be sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online.
"It's just a really exciting opportunity for us to try and get our music out to as many people as possible," Urban tells Billboard.com. "Target also asked for extra material, and it's great to give people a little bit more."
The deluxe version of "Get Closer" will include almost double the material, with four live tracks and three unreleased originals in addition to the album's original eight songs. The three unreleased tracks came from the "Get Closer" recording sessions.
"In some ways it's all just one record, but one is a shorter version while the Target version is the full album," Urban says. "If people get the shorter version and love it, maybe they'll want to hear some more songs."
According to Urban, "Get Closer" is a love song-heavy album that captures "a turning point in a relationship." "My instincts have been to run from love probably more than to it, just out of fear of getting hurt," says Urban. "I think that's really what the album is born out of. Slowly but surely, I've been realizing that those times when I want to run are actually when I need to be turning around and getting closer."
The source of the live material included on the deluxe Target edition of "Get Closer" is Urban's 2007 Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy World tour. Although only four live tracks are included, Urban believes they'll satisfy fans' demand for a Keith Urban live album.
"I've had a lot of people ask if we're ever going to do a live album, but every time we've toured we've been recording the shows for a DVD," says Urban. "Then we thought, 'Let's sort through all the live recordings and find some versions that really capture what it's like to come out and see us live.' I think these four songs are really indicative of that."
He adds that there is a great possibility that he will release a full live album down the road, but for now, the four tracks -- all of which are singles, including "Better Life" and "Once in a Lifetime" -- will have to do.
Urban and his band will hit the road again in 2011 to tour behind "Get Closer," and the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee is feeling quite prepared. "I was very conscious of touring when making the record -- how the songs would translate to the stage," says Urban.
KEITH TO PERFORM AT 2010 CMA AWARDS
October 7, 2010 --- The Country Music Association has announced their second round of performers today, which includes Keith! The CMA Awards will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on November 10, and will air on ABC. See all of this year's nominees now! Keith is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year.
